This Village Hotel Sentosa review gives you a sneak peek into the latest Sentosa family hotel to open on the island of fun in Singapore.
The Village Hotel Sentosa by Far East hospitality is a fantastic family friendly hotel located in the heart of Sentosa, close to all the main attractions and restaurants.
Designed specifically with families in mind, it has a large proportion of family rooms, enormous outdoor pool deck area and plenty of kid friendly entertainment and activities on a daily basis.
It’s easily reached via taxi from Changi airport in around 20-30 minutes depending on traffic and there are plenty of public transport options nearby too. If you live in Singapore and are coming for a family staycation, there is free parking available onsite too.

Reasons to love Village Hotel Sentosa
Here are some top reasons to book a family stay at the Village Hotel at Sentosa:
- It is very family focussed. The hotel has been designed specifically for families with kids at the forefront of every aspect.
- The pool deck is amazing. There are 4 themed pools, including an adventure pool, a lazy river, a kids pool with slides and an infinity pool with swim-up bar.
- It boasts a great location. The hotel is based between Resorts World Sentosa and the beach. The Sentosa free bus stops right outside making it easy to get around.
- It is sustainably forward. There are several measures being taken to be more sustainable. For example, every bedroom comes with a water filter tap in place of using plastic bottles.

Village Sentosa Accommodation
There are three categories of accommodation to choose from at the Village Hotel:
- Deluxe room
- Family room (2 x standard rooms interconnecting)
- Deluxe Family room (2 x deluxe rooms interconnecting)
Both categories of family room are made up of two connecting rooms, meaning you have two ensuite bathrooms and two TVs, so everyone can watch what they want and no queuing for the shower in the morning.
You can choose to have the connecting doors open to create more space or closed for extra privacy.
So what is the difference between the standard family and deluxe family rooms? The deluxe rooms are slightly more spacious and some deluxe rooms come with a bathtub in one of the bathrooms, if that is important to you.
With both categories you can choose your bedding configuration between king and twin beds: King + King, King + Twin or Twin + Twin. Baby cots are also available on request so you could have a family of five in a family room, if it includes a baby.
What does a Village Hotel Sentosa room look like?
Guest rooms are light and bright with large windows and a contemporary neutral vibe. They are compact but there are several clever design features to make the most of a small space.
The entrance hall doubles as the bathroom and wardrobe. So you have your wash basin and luggage rack here in the hallway, while the toilet and shower are tucked away in their own cubicle.
Note that there is no wardrobe and only one drawer for putting clothes away. In place of a wardrobe, there are hanging hooks on the wall and coat hangers are provided.
There is a small fridge (no stocked mini bar, the fridge is empty), and there is a 7-11 mini mart across the courtyard at the Mess Hall, and a Supply Depot in the hotel lobby to stock up on supplies.
There is also a kettle and you can stock up on tea and coffee at the supply station in the corridor near the lift lobby (there is also an ice machine here).
One of my favourite features here is the Hylux filtered water tap in each room. This is part of the hotel’s effort to be more sustainable and is in place of providing plastic bottles of water. So be sure to bring your water bottles with you for outings.
There is also a jug provided for collecting ice from the machine in the hallway.
Each room has a 49-inch smart TV, with the ability to sync to your own devices via Bluetooth or AirPlay. The TV also acts as your information portal in place of paper copies – another sustainability feature.
Kids amenities are provided in all family rooms, including mini bathrobes, an activity booklet, kids toothbrushes and snacks. Your kids ages will determine the little treats left in your room.
They really have thought of everything for their mini hotel guests here – including bump protectors on the corners of the furniture.

Facilities at Village Hotel Sentosa
The star of the show at the Village Sentosa is the pool. Or pools I should say, as there are four different pools, all surrounded by lush tropical landscaped gardens. It really is an awesome tropical haven.
The four pool areas are:
- Adventure Pool – this is a large swimming pool area with cascading pools, mini islands and little social pods dotted among the water areas.
- Children’s Play Pool – a small kid friendly area with shallow water, fountains to play in and water slides.
- Lazy River Pool – grab an inflatable ring (provided) and take a lazy float down through the foliage on the lazy river. If you get too hot, there is a rain shower to cool you down along the way!
- Pamukkale Pool – Inspired by the silver terraces of the Pamukkale pools in Turkey, this infinity pool features cascading pool areas and mini pools overlooking the lap pool. It also has ocean views… and a swim up bar!
Mini Hotelier Programme
Unusually for such a kid-focussed resort, there is no actual kids club at the Village Hotel on Sentosa. In its place they have the Mini Hotelier Programme, which looks fun for younger kids.
Here, a corridor of hotel rooms have been transformed into a kids play retreat with themed rooms for role play and creative activities. This is open to guests from 3pm – 5pm every day.
These include the Mini Artist room filled with art supplies and schedule art activities; Mini Housekeeper where wannabe housekeeping staff can learn how to make a bed and clean the room; Mini Chef complete with toy kitchens and Mini Engineer, where they can learn how to fix things and rewire a circuit board!
There’s also a small soft play area perfect for babies and toddlers. There are scheduled activities at the Mini Hotelier programme, or you can just come along and give it a go in your own time.
Other fun activities for kids at the hotel
Beyond the Mini Hotelier suite there are also daily arts and crafts activities for kids in the hotel lobby, when they also hand out ice creams and offer face painting and/or funky tattoos. There are sometimes magic shows too!
Plus kids can help themselves to snacks at the kids snack station in the lobby at any time.
Every morning during the week there is a Scavenger Hunt that takes families through Sentosa Nature Discovery to learn about the local flora and fauna.
Friday and Saturday evenings are alfresco movie nights by the pool, where kids can grab a bean bag and watch a family friendly movie. There’s even kids yoga and pilates on offer at weekends too.

Village Hotel Sentosa Restaurants
You have several dining options in and close to the hotel here. There is one onsite restaurant: Native Kitchen. This hotel restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. 24-hour room service is also available.
Breakfast is a full buffet with a good choice of international and local food while the menu for lunch and dinner features fine dining versions of local Singapore hawker dishes.
There are high chairs and plenty of kids’ plates and cutlery on offer.
Other restaurants in the adjacent hotels and Mess Hall within easy walking distance include:
- Bedrock Origin – located in the next door Oasia Hotel, this grill restaurant specialises in seafood and fire grilled steaks.
- Le Faubourg – Parisian cafe located in the Mess Hall across the courtyard from Village Hotel.
- Quentin’s Bar and Restaurant – Eurasian restaurant located in the Mess Hall.
- Royal Taj – Indian restaurant in the Mess Hall.
- The Straits Wine Company – casual wine bar and restaurant in the Mess Hall.
Also within a few minutes you can get to Resorts World Sentosa to find another choice of restaurants, including Chifa and Soi Social or head down to the beach for even more restaurants and beach clubs, such as FOC Sentosa and Coastes.
Village Hotel Sentosa Location
The hotel enjoys an enviable position, located between Resorts World Sentosa and the Sentosa beaches.
The hotel has a shuttle bus to Vivocity and Beach Station, which runs every half an hour. The Sentosa free buses A and C also stop right outside the hotel and come along every 15 minutes.
The hotel is also an easy walk to Imbiah Station or Resorts World Station where you can catch the Sentosa Express monorail to both Beach Station and Vivocity.
Once at Beach Station you have the three Sentosa beaches to enjoy, with a choice of beach clubs, bars and attractions, including the Skyline Luge and Megazip. From Vivocity you can jump on the MRT to explore the rest of Singapore.
Resorts World Sentosa is a short walk from the hotel, where you will find theme park Universal Studios Singapore, S.E.A Aquarium and Adventure Cove Water park, as well as shops and restaurants.
