Seminyak boasts many of the best restaurants in Bali. Here we explore the best restaurants in Seminyak both for date nights and family dinners.
Bali is an eternally popular destination for a family vacation, and we have enjoyed many a fabulous holiday here. There are so many different locations in Bali and each destination has its own vibe.
People head to Nusa Dua for the beaches, Ubud for the culture, Uluwatu for the views, and Seminyak for the shopping and restaurants.
One of the most famous places to head to for dinner in Bali is Eat Street Seminyak, aka Jalan Laksmana. People head to this famous Seminyak street for the abundance of cool boutiques, bars and restaurants and if you have no reservations, it’s a good bet to be able to find somewhere to eat.
However, there is more to the Bali restaurant scene than Seminyak Eat Street.
Seminyak has attracted some of the world’s best chefs to its shores and now boasts many of the best restaurants in Bali. If you are wondering where to eat in Seminyak, here we explore the best restaurants in Seminyak, both for family dinners and date nights.

MÉTIS Restaurant Seminyak
Known for many years as one of the best Semiyak Restaurants, MÉTIS is one of my all-time favourite restaurants in the world. This is definitely a restaurant you will want to save for when you can make use of the hotel babysitting service and have a romantic dinner in Seminyak.
The al-fresco courtyard of this secluded and romantic restaurant is surrounded by Bali’s natural beauty and promises you a memorable dining experience.
Arrive early to enjoy a cocktail on the terrace overlooking the rice paddy fields and lotus ponds, before indulging in some supremely executed French-Mediterranean cuisine.

Sardine Restaurant Seminyak
Right across the road from MÉTIS is another spectacular restaurant best saved for date night. The striking bamboo thatched pavilion overlooks a vista of endless rice paddies, making this one of the most visually stunning settings in all of Seminyak.
Sardine serves up some of the best seafood in Seminyak. The super-fresh seafood changes daily depending on the local catch of the day, and is dished up with vegetables sourced from the restaurant’s own organic farm in the Balinese mountains.

Sarong Seminyak
Sarong is known as one of the top restaurants in Seminyak and is the place to head to for your Asian food fix in Bali. Head chef and owner Will Meyrick, aka “the street food chef” has travelled extensively through far-flung Asian regions, sampling local street food, which has inspired his eclectic menu of Pan-Asian creations.
It might be street food-inspired, but make no mistake – this is perfectly executed, innovative Asian cuisine. Already tried Sarong? Will Meyrick’s other restaurant Mama San is another of the best places in Seminyak to enjoy innovative Asian-fusion cuisine.

Bambu Restaurant Seminyak
This hidden gem is one of the best places for Indonesian food in Seminyak. The Bambu Seminyak menu features local favourites with a modern twist, with dishes from around Indonesia and Bali represented.
The setting is beautiful and serene, with tables arranged on platforms over fish ponds and pools. Note that this means it is not an ideal place to have a relaxing meal with a toddler!
Don’t miss the soft shell crab and baby back ribs, and be sure to start your meal with a margarita!
La Lucciola
We always rated La Lucciola as one of the best places to eat in Seminyak before we had kids, and we were afraid that meals at this beachside beauty would come to an end once the brood grew. How wrong we were!
Whereas once we came here after sunset cocktails for the romantic candlelit atmosphere, now we come early and let the kids run riot on the expanse of grass in front of the restaurant, before tucking into the delicious Mediterranean fare as the sun sets.
This is one of the best Seminyak beach restaurants if you want to dine to the sound of the waves.
Café Bali Seminyak
Café Bali has long enjoyed the reputation of being one of the best cafes in Seminyak. This Seminyak stalwart is handily located on Eat Street, making it a great option for lunch in Seminyak if you are out hitting the boutiques.
The shabby chic interior and relaxed vibe encourages you to settle in for the afternoon and tuck into the eclectic menu of dishes, ranging from dim sum to satay to salads and avocado toast.
Motel Mexicola Restaurant Seminyak
The bright and colourful, bold and brash Motel Mexicola is a great fun cantina and the best place in Seminyak to head to if you are craving tacos, tostadas and ceviches. Throw into the mix some live Latin music, a few margaritas and a fun-loving crowd and you have a party on your hands!
Despite the sometimes rowdy crowd, you can still bring the kids to Motel Mexicola, even in the evenings. They will have a great time!

Naughty Nuri’s Warung
Naughty Nuri’s is one of the best warungs in Seminyak. The setting may be rustic and no-frills, but let me tell you, the ribs they serve here are amongst the best you will taste anywhere in the world. Seriously.
And you know what they serve with those fall-off-the-bone sumptuous smoky ribs? Martinis! Straight-up vodka or gin martinis, shaken not stirred.
Ribs and Martinis – you’re in for a fun night. Bring the kids – it’s a laid-back and convivial setting; nobody will notice how much noise they make. Plus, you’ll want to arrive early to beat the queue.
Shake shake!
