Aussie World, the beloved entertainment complex on the Sunshine Coast, is set to make a big splash with the announcement of a new $60 million waterpark!

Designed to thrill both locals and tourists, this massive expansion promises to be a game-changer for family fun in the region.

A New Wave of Excitement

Submitted to the Sunshine Coast Council for approval, the development plan outlines a state-of-the-art waterpark just north of the existing Aussie World theme park.

If greenlit, this new attraction will become the Sunshine Coast’s largest waterpark, spotlighting sustainability and accessible tourism as the area gears up for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

By 2031, the park is projected to draw over 780,000 visitors annually, contributing between $15.2 million and $30 million to the local tourism economy.

Family Fun for Everyone

The waterpark’s concept design is brimming with exciting features:

  • 16 water slides for kids, teens, and adults
  • Leisure pools and action pools
  • Numerous waterplay areas
  • A variety of food and beverage outlets
  • pool barsun lounges, and cozy cabanas
  • souvenir shop to remember your fun-filled day

A Vision for the Future

Aussie World’s General Manager, Jenny Howell, shared her excitement about the project: “As the largest sustainable and accessible waterpark on the Sunshine Coast, and with its close proximity to Aussie World, this project will be hugely popular and something that locals can be proud of.”

To make the Sunshine Coast even more appealing for overnight visitors, a two-day pass will be offered, encouraging tourists to extend their stay and explore more of the region’s attractions.
