A brand new Club Med resort is opening in Borneo, giving families a new all-inclusive beach escape in Malaysia.

A new all-inclusive Club Med resort is opening in Borneo in November 2026. Located in Sabah near Kota Kinabalu, the family-friendly beach resort will feature kids’ clubs, pools, and rainforest adventures.
Club Med Borneo will welcome its first guests in November 2026, and reservations open on 24 March 2026. Located in Kuala Penyu, Sabah, the beachfront resort sits between tropical rainforest and the turquoise waters of the South China Sea.
For families looking for an easy holiday in Southeast Asia, the resort promises the classic Club Med experience – with kids’ clubs, water activities and all meals included, but set in one of the most wildlife-rich regions on Earth.

A Beachfront Resort Surrounded by Nature

Club Med Borneo will be located on a 17-hectare stretch of beachfront in Kuala Penyu, about 90 minutes from Kota Kinabalu International Airport.
The setting is particularly special. Sabah is famous for its ancient rainforest, wildlife and mangrove ecosystems, and the resort sits right beside a mangrove reserve. Guests will be able to explore both the ocean and jungle environments nearby.
The architecture will also reflect local culture, with the main building inspired by traditional Rungus longhouses found in northern Borneo.
What the Resort Will Offer

The new resort will feature around 400 rooms, including a collection of premium suites in a more private “Exclusive Collection” section.
Facilities announced so far include:
- A large infinity pool overlooking the sea
- A family splash park and water play area
- Multiple restaurants and bars
- A forest-set spa with treatment chalets
- A theatre for evening shows and performances
As with other Club Med resorts, the holiday will follow the all-inclusive model, meaning accommodation, meals, activities and entertainment are included in the price.
Kids’ Clubs for Babies to Teens

One of the biggest drawcards for families will be Club Med’s kids’ club programme, which caters to children from 4 months through to 17 years.
Younger kids can join age-appropriate activities and supervised play, while older children and teens can take part in sports, creative workshops and evening entertainment.
The resort will also feature a dedicated splash park and family-friendly pools.
Experiences Beyond the Resort

While the resort itself will offer plenty to do, Borneo is best known for its incredible nature and wildlife.
Excursions planned for guests include:
- River safaris to spot proboscis monkeys and hornbills.
- Snorkelling trips around Pulau Tiga island.
- Visits to Mari-Mari Cultural Village to learn about Sabah’s indigenous cultures.
- Exploring markets and temples in Kota Kinabalu.
These activities give families the chance to experience Borneo’s wildlife and culture without having to organise everything independently.
When Bookings Open

Bookings for Club Med Borneo open on 24 March 2026, with the resort scheduled to welcome its first guests in November 2026.
For families who love the simplicity of an all-inclusive holiday but want somewhere a little more adventurous than the typical beach destination, Club Med Borneo could be an exciting new option.
